Cheapest Family Travel Insurance - Travel Resources

Can I get paid for my stolen car instead of my finance company?

My car was just recently stolen. The insurance company is saying that they only pay the finance company and in no way pay me for the loss of my car. I never asked for this to happen to me. I was thinking if in the worst case scenario, my car doesnt get recovered than I can use the insurance money to buy a cheap used car and keep paying my finance company its montlhy payment as if nothing happend to my car. Is this possible? I see the insurance company paying back my finance company, me still oweing them the remaining balance and me still without a car. So im F*cked all the way around. I NEED a car, to keep my job, travel to and from family. There has to be an easy solution or some rights I have under this crime. please someone help. thanks!

Hmm, well if you owe them money, they are going to get paid first, as they have a lien on the car. I don?t think you can do much about it except some kind of loan consolidation onto a replacement car after they get paid out. With no collateral (the car) they are not just going to let you keep paying the loan and keep the money.

Unfortunately, it is not the lender?s problem your car was stolen? They won?t see it that way. Sorry for your misfortune?
