Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook?s chief operating officer, said she had planned to take the flight that crashed in San Francisco on Saturday that left two people dead and at least 180 more injured.
?Taking a minute to be thankful and explain what happened,? Ms. Sandberg, who ranked No. 10 on Forbes? 2012 ?Most Powerful Women? list, posted to her Facebook page Saturday night.
?My family, colleagues Debbie Frost, Charlton Gholson and Kelly Hoffman and I were originally going to take the Asiana flight that just crash-landed. We switched to United so we could use miles for my family?s tickets. Our flight was scheduled to come in at the same time, but we were early and landed about 20 minutes before the crash.?
The executive said that her friend David Eun, a Samsung executive, was on board Asiana Airlines Flight 214, but he was not injured in the crash.
?Thank you to everyone who is reaching out ? and sorry if we worried anyone,? she added. ?Serious moment to give thanks.?
