Doctors And The World Market | New Health and Fitness

New Health And Fitness.Org - Health Information You Can Use

The economic down turn has seen many professions witness; cutbacks, job losses and structural changes (for the worse). Despite all of this, one profession has seen an actual upturn; both in terms of numbers employed and in benefits paid ? medicine. Medicine worldwide, as a profession, is on a very noticeable upward curve in terms of remuneration and in terms of numbers working as doctors.

One of the reasons for this rise of the medical profession is the growing competition for scarce medical resources. Historically there was an over training of doctors in many developing countries, this is changing as the economies of these countries have in effect caught up with the medical staff trained there. A newly wealthy Indian middle class has led more India doctors being employed in India.

The expanding economies of the Middle East have gradually drawn more and more doctors into their healthcare systems. Not just developing world doctors either. Western medics are now tempted by high salaries and good working conditions, once only offered in the west, now available in many countries with vastly expanding, well financed, modern medical facilities.

Today we find an increasing number of western trained, highly skilled, ambitious young doctors heading to the poorer south, poorer that is but ?developing?. New wealth, opportunities for accelerated promotion and the chance to work in gleaming state of the art facilities is part of the allure. The whole picture like so much in matters human and of human resources is complex and multi-faceted.

Of course there are many reasons for young ambitious westerners to want to work in overseas positions; newer developing healthcare regimes have more scope for advancement and promotion, the wish to live in a different culture, the ?gap year? affect whereby most educated young westerners have now sampled other cultures and feel no anxiety about working in what to their fathers and grandfathers would have been a very ?foreign? environment.

One thing that does stand out as well is the higher salaries offered by many of these countries, another often overlooked factor is the widespread use of modern communications which have in effect made the world a much smaller place.

The breadth of job opportunities available now on the internet is truly astounding. The acceptance and use of English worldwide has also led to the language barriers or old being brought down. A situation where a French doctor speaks to a Filipina nurse in a Dubai hospital is now imaginable.

Barriers of travel and worldwide accepted standards of medical qualification have now made it easier for medical professionals to ply their trade in foreign parts.

Leaders in all areas of international medical recruitmentCare Visions International are looking to fill a large number of doctors jobs worldwidetoday.
