Olympus reveals PEN E-P3, PEN E-PL3, and PEN E-PM1 interchangeable lens cameras

You won't be coloring us surprised at the launch of the E-PM1, but those other two? Well, let's just say we've always been big fans of the elusive trifecta. Olympus just went live with the PEN E-P3 (shown above), PEN E-PL3, and PEN E-PM1, three 12.3 megapixel interchangeable lens cameras with Live MOS sensors, TruePic VI image processors and an ISO ceiling of 12,800. You'll also get a reengineered autofocus system, a 1080i HD video mode, newly designed user interfaces and a variety of Art Filters. The E-P3 is outfitted with an all-metal body and "the world's fastest autofocus" (really?), while the rear is dotted with a 614,000 pixel OLED touchscreen. The E-PL3 steps it up with a 3-inch tilting LCD, while the smallest and lightest of the PEN line (yeah, the E-PM1) will be shipping in a half-dozen hues. The outfit also revealed a new pair of prime lenses, a camera grip and a FL-300R flash, all of which are detailed in the source links below. The bad news? Only the P3 is being priced, with $900 landing you a fairly swank kit this August.

Elderly Drivers ? When Should They Put Down Their Keys?

As you or a loved one ages you may find it is harder to see, hear and maybe even get around. None of these things can prevent you from driving until they get really bad. A persons coordination and reflexes has a lot to do with safe driving. As the motor skills begin to decline so can your reaction time. Reaction time can also be effected by certain medical conditions or medications. It is important to ask the doctor about you or a loved one?s ability to drive after each hospital stay. Usually it will be just a few short days until the strength and endurance have improved. Other times there could be a significant medical change such as a stroke or serious heart condition that may keep someone from being safe behind the wheel.

Even if you or your loved one have not been ill you may consider going to see the doctor if you are noticing some of the following things.

- Getting lost in familiar areas.
- Driving inappropriate speeds.
- Not noticing mechanical things wrong with the car.
- Having more difficulty driving at night or in the rain.
- Drifting into other lanes due to poor concentration.
- Trouble with depth perception and stopping to closely.
- Not stopping or yielding to traffic.
- Asking others if they should go, pass or change lanes.
- Responding slowly to traffic.
- Having more near misses or fender benders.
- Forgetting to put on wipers, lights or turn signals.
- Difficulty with turning your head,neck or trunk.

Some of these problems can be solved by just going to see a doctor. For example have your vision and hearing checked. See your primary doctor for a physical to look at coordination and reflexes. Having the doctor or pharmacist look over your medications to see if they are interacting in a way that is reducing reaction time, concentration or coordination. Changes can also be made by driving only during the day to familiar places and leaving your self enough time to get places.

There is also an Association for Driver Rehabilitation. They give referrals to professionals that are trained to help keep people on the road. The local police department and motor vehicle administration are also good places to inquire about driving and the elderly. Hopefully these few tips will help keep you and your loved ones safe on the road.

Discussing Birth Control With Your Partner | Your Life After 25

Different couples decide to start having sex at different times. If you feel like you and your partner are ready and want to have sex, it is important to bring up the topic of birth control as soon as possible.

Both Partners are Responsible
Although many forms of birth control are designed to be used by women, the decision to use birth control and what kind of contraceptive should be used is something both partners need to agree on. The possible consequences that result from not using birth control, such as unplanned pregnancy and spreading sexually transmitted diseases, are life changing and effect both people in the relationship.

When and How to Talk About Birth Control
Since sex is both a strong physical and emotional experience, discussing sex and birth control should be done before a couple starts having sex.

Prepare yourself before bringing up the subject to your partner. Plan out what you will say and do your research on contraceptives. During the actual conversation, be honest about your feelings, concerns, and wishes, and be open minded about your partners? feelings as well. Keep in mind that your partner is probably feeling as anxious as you, but talking openly about sex will lead to more fulfilling sexual experiences.

What Should You Discuss?
Talking about birth control and sex can be awkward. However, to ensure a fulfilling and healthy sexual relationship, the following should be discussed.

-Each partner?s health history. (Is there a possibility of someone having an STD or AIDs?)
-Previous experience with birth control
-Personal preferences and religious views on birth control
-How frequently each person wants or expects sex to happen
-Cost of contraceptives
-Effectiveness/strength of different kinds of birth control
-The effort it takes to use a certain kind of contraceptive (i.e. The pill requires more effort than a condom)

This might also be an appropriate time to discuss sex itself, especially if it is one person?s or both partners? first time. Talk about each person?s likes, dislikes, and emotional/physical concerns.

Different Types of Birth Control
The following is a broad outline of the most common types of birth control used.

-Hormonal Methods-Contraceptives under this category are designed for women and are usually excellent at preventing pregnancy. Hormonal methods include birth control pills, shots, birth control patches, sub-dermal implants, and vaginal rings. Most of these will require either professional medical consultation and/or a prescription.
-Intrauterine Devices (IUDs)-This is a small, T-shaped contraceptive that is inserted into the uterus by a doctor. The effects of an IUD last 5-10 years.
-Barrier Methods-These include condoms, contraceptive sponges, and spermicide foams and gels, and diaphragms. Though more accessible, barrier contraceptives are not as effective and must be used every time a couple has sex.
-Natural Family Planning-This method entails keeping track of a woman?s ovulation cycle and knowing what time periods a woman is more or less likely to get pregnant.
-Sterilization-A man can either have a vasectomy or a woman can have her tubes tied. This is know as permanent birth control and should only be done when a couple does not want to have children at all.

How and Where to Obtain Birth Control
In general, the more effective and expensive a contraceptive is, the more likely it is you will have to see a health professional.

-Contraceptives such as condoms and sponges can be purchased at a drugstore.
-Birth control with long term effects require seeing a health professional. Birth control and other hormonal methods require a a doctor?s prescription. Other contraceptives, such as an IUD and sterilization requires a doctor.

Happy Wordful Wednesday is a great day to post a picture that ?speaks? for itself, no words needed OVER AT JAVA'S! So, I've found a new home for Wednesday, and I blog-hop all day long looking at great pics! How about you??

My husband HAD a Cancerous mole on his neck.? We just came home from the hospital, and... well let me back track just a bit.? Whenever we go on vacations Dave loves roller coasters.? Remember this one?? See above.? He's out from morning until night in the sun.? Plus he's a truck driver, so left side of his face & the arm out the window & left leg in the sun all day.? David had a very good friend, Gary.? He was at a family party & his brother (a doctor) said he should get this funny looking mole on his back checked out.? Three months later our dear friend died of skin cancer (Melanoma).? It was because of that story Dave went to see the doctor & got a biopsy taken on this brown spot on his neck, and I thank the Lord that he did.

? Yes, it was Cancer, but not the bad kind that kills you it rarely spreads, but if you don't do anything about it it could kill you.? They ordered a complete x-cision of the mole, which they did today.? Dave is fine, but my nerves are frazzled.? My prayers were answered when the doctor said he got it 100%.? So my friends supposedly this all starts when you're young, and being in the sun too long.? So, when we go out we're going to get him a hat and sunscreen.? David is my world, and he's changed a very dismal life into one happy and loving life for me.? If your husband's work makes him an outdoor man show this too him and be cautious.?

Johnny Knoxville Pens Tribute to Ryan Dunn

Mourning the loss of his friend and Jackass co-star Ryan Dunn, Johnny Knoxville took to his blog this weekend to pen a tribute to the late stuntman.

Johnny, who spoke at Dunn's memorial service last week, said he wrote the blog post because it's "what I wished I could have told everyone then."

"I felt 34-percent funnier when I was with Ryan, but I guess everyone did," the 40-year-old Knoxville said. "He had such a hair trigger laugh reflex."

"He lived his life wanting to laugh and wanting you to laugh with him. He would cackle really f**king loud, too, and it wasn't uncommon that he would fall over. Sometimes I would fall with him because his spirit was very contagious."

Knoxville noted that Dunn "wasn't incapable of seriousness" and was "a great listener." The 34-year-old Ryan also had "an enormous capacity to love."

"A lion's share of [Ryan's love] went to his sweet and beautiful Angie," Knoxville recalled. "If he wasn't with her he would be talking about her."

"More times than not he would smile wide through that filthy ass beard of his and say something along the lines of, 'How did I ever luck up and land her?'"

"Well, it sure wasn't because of the way he smelled that's for sure."

"It was because he had a pure, open heart, and many other qualities of which I am writing about now."

Knoxville lamented that Dunn's death "isn't right" and recalled telling his own daughter Madison, 15, about his passing. "Rocko will never get to know you like she did, nor will my daughter that is coming in October," he said.

"I cry a lot about that."

"I know your spirit lives on in me, Angie, [Bam Margera] and everyone you touched, but that's pretty tough to see right now through the tears," he said. "I'm just very sad because I lost my brother and my world got about 134-percent less funny."
